Bereavement Support - Lost And Found

What is Lost and Found?

Lost and Found is a 12 week course run one evening per week, for children affected by bereavement or separation. It is predominantly aimed at children ages 7-11.

Lost and Found is just as open to neurotypical young people as neurodivergent - loss affects everyone.

Despite the serious nature of this topic, the sessions are informal and can be very enjoyable.

More Info

We understand that after a significant loss or change, all members of the family are affected in different ways. Major loss can have a profound effect on the children affected by such experiences. Some children can find it extremely difficult to verbalise their feelings because of their age and inexperience.

Through this support group, we hope to be part of a process to assist children in:

  • Expressing and understanding their feelings
  • Growing in their acceptance for what has happened
  • Building a stronger sense of self-esteem
  • Feeling an increased sense of security and love as they learn to adapt to their new circumstances

Sessions are full of varied, enjoyable activities led by trained, caring volunteers.

The children who have previously attended these groups have found them reassuring and supportive and enjoyed them tremendously!
